Link to a walkthrough (text file) for Carbon's career mode. Includes strategies for getting the difficult reward cards.

I'm gonna disagree with the "best cars" section...
Here are two lists: custom cars and stock cars.

Best Custom Cars in NFS Carbon:
- Tier 1 - Chevelle SS
- Tier 2 - Pontiac GTO; Mitsubishi Eclipse; Heavy SUV
- Tier 3 - Audi Le Mans Quattro; Porsche 911 GT3 RS*; Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Best Stock Cars in NFS Carbon:
- Tier 1 - 240SX
- Tier 2 - Charger R/T; Jaguar XK; Mercedes SL65 AMG
- Tier 3 - Dodge Viper*; Lamborghini Murcielago; Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

*Or the Cop Corvette
*Why did I choose Viper over Corvette? I personally think if you drive muscles; controlling both will be easy - and top speed isn't what effects a muscle car the most; plus, the Viper is really the fastest car in-game.

Other than that; nice link. :D

Perhaps I should have called them the "fastest cars" section. The cars I listed as the best cars are the ones that get the fastest lap times in each tier and what most of the online players use.

Cop Corvette
Fastest car (in terms of lap times) in the PC version of Carbon is the Cop Z06, but you need an unlocker (like a trainer) to get access to that car. I don't think there's a way to access that car with the console versions (other than the online pursuit events). Here's a video of the Cop Z06:

All of the lap records are held by the Corvette Z06 or the Audi Lemans, depending on the track (the Cop Z06 is faster, but it takes a hack to use it). Although the muscle cars have the highest top speeds at most tracks because of their acceleration, some of the tuner cars have the highest speeds on very long straights like the Hwy 142 section of South Fortuna track. A video of the Ford GT using the Nikki draft glitch (it reaches 522 kph == 326 mph before triggering the glitch):

You can get the Cop Vette easily with no trainer. Its the "Police Interceptor" reward card that unlocks it.

Except for PS2 PAL Platinium Edition, where the reward card is borked and you won't get it anyway(same with autosculptable spoilers Mystic & Specter CF).

What about the MW M3 GTR which can be unlocked from reward cards? Isn't it better than the Lemans? :P
If you search crazy romanian on Google, you'll find a video with mentally retarded driver. My member title has nothing to do with it. It's nothing more than a pure coincidence.

In circuits, the M3 should have been holding the lap record, yea. But for acceleration and top speed, it is a bit worse than Le Mans.

That is not the Cop Z06. The only way to access it on console version is by doing online pursuit tag, but it won't have nitrous. On a PC, you can use a car unlocker (trainer) to enable the car for purchase in an shop or "my cars". The police interceptor and the Cop Z06 look identical, but the performance bars for the Cop Z06 are almost zero (just dots on the far left) and that is how you figure out which one is the Cop Z06. It ends up as a tier 2 car in game. The car code for a Cop Z06 is C4053AF9 928F0F95, while the regular Palmont PD2 (police interceptor) code is C4053AF9 2E1636B3. You would need a hex editor and know how to use one in order to see the codes. NFS Unlimited has a hex editor guide along with car and special vinyl codes.

Link to savefile with Cop Z06 in career garage and "my cars". Note that it will dissappear from the garage if you click on select car from the menu. The Cop Z06 in "my cars" doesn't have any issues. Silverton is left to be done so you can have fun with the Cop Z06 car. The Cop Z06 is not good for drifting, but by weaving and using the handbrake, you score enough to win the one canyon drift event in Silverton.

You'll need to use a save editor to change the cd-key in the savefile. (My savefile has the cd key set to "000...000"). Run the editor, browse to your savefile, copy and paste your cd-key to the savegame key, then click on fix to update the checksum, then save the updated save file.

The Lemans is faster than the BMW in Carbon. The Lemans or the regular career Z06 are the two fastest cars, which one is faster depends on the track. At Condo Row which is a tight track, the Lemans is a bit faster, while the Z06 is faster on the more open tracks.
