A WG Regular is someone who comes to WG frequently, gets involved in the events, is on Chat frequently, posts a lot etc. Basically they're someone who, when you see their name, you say "Oh, I know him".
What advantages do they get?
Not much. They get a different coloured name and a special sticker but in general they dont get much else. Generally though we treat WG Regulars as share holders in the site though; they represent the core of the WG community and as such we take on board their opinions a lot more seriously than say someone whos just signed up that day.
Ok, so how do I become one?
Previously WG Regular status was granted based on post count alone. Simply put, if you had a 100+ posts, you were automatically moved into the WG Regular group. This was under the belief that by posting 100 times you were involved on some level with the community. However this got abused by a few members who just spammed the forums in order to get this status so we removed that feature. Now we award it on an individual basis.
To be considered as a WG regular, you need to post a thread in this forum section with the topic tag "Applicant" as the prefix, copying and pasting the following into the thread and answering the questions:

What NFS games do you play:

Its imperative that you follow the above process correctly - if you dont, we'll assume you're incapable of reading and mock you for being a fool who probably doesnt have any hats to wear. Once this has been submitted correctly you will be considered by the existing WG Regulars. This process could take a week or two. Once a choice has been made, we will most likely organise an event for you to participate in - a series of races in an NFS game typically - to celebrate your arrival and allow people to get to know you even more.
Wait, why all this effort just to be classed as a regular officially? Couldn't I just hang out here and be a regular in the normal sense?
Yes, yes you could. WG has been critised before for being elitist and tightly knit, a point I completely agree with. We're not a standard one-trick forum with preset rules and forum sections, we're a community of friends who enjoy NFS games and share common interests. We are all friends here (some would even say family) and the reason why this community has worked so well is that we all get along within reason. By having this process, it gives you a chance to get known better within the community and make new friends, its not designed to keep people out but instead give them an almost official way of breaking into whats become a close circle of friends.
If you chose to just hang out in WG but dont want to be considered a part of WG, that is fine and no one will dislike you for that. If you're a hardcore member whos been around awhile but not applied you will probably get offered WG Regular status without having to do any of the above.
So to recap; this process exists to allow you to get to know everyone in the community better and vice versa, and also allows you to be able to say, "Im a WG regular!".
