Cars test with Performance Parts

This is more like the continuation of my car list guide. The whole purpose of this project is to find a cars true potential under part equiped condition.

In this project, we'll do the same car performance tests we do with stock cars, except here we will also be testing with performance parts equipped. Reason is cars handle differently when parts are installed. Some of the lower tier cars performs better than higher tier cars. So from this, we will be able to find how much these performance parts affects and also how good the Cars become.

Also as an additional test we will do laptime tests on 2 particular tracks with these equipped performance parts. This will determine how good the car is in races.

Ofcourse things wont be 100% perfect with the tests, but atleast we will be able to find some kind of proper and very accurate results.

It took me quite a while to actually start it again, after my previous guide at EA Forums got demolished because of this new performance system (Nov 2010). Anyway, I hope this helps you all and that some of you will help me up complete this work. Please do tell if any mistakes found or have any suggestion.

Testing Method:

First thing first, if you don't know how the original performance test was done, Go here --> Cars Prices, Performances & Unlock Level and scroll down to Performance Test in Detail. Its all written there in detail.

For Laptime test, we will use Kempton Docks & Ironhorse & Coast.

All runs will be done properly and without making much mistakes. Requirements to do is,
  • Singleplayer Only.
  • Only Ready & Shield allowed, No other PowerUps.
  • No Wallriding.
  • No Skill Mod and...
  • ...you are very very good driver.
From this, we will take note of the Total Time and the Best Lap time.

I think you guys might argue about why not test using nitrous/Nos. Well, I did thought of something which I will later discuss with you guys. For now lets just do it this way.

Questions about the lap time - which races is available, single or private? And we can use ready and shield?

Singleplayer and yeah Ready and Shield is fine, but no other powerups.

Top Speed: 290 km/h
Acceleration: 205 km/h
Nitrous: +10 (215 km/h)
Handling: 200 km/h

Lotus Exige Cup 260 (Full pro tuned, Green/Blue/Green/Red/Red/Yellow)
Top Speed: 319 km/h
Acceleration: 215 km/h
Nitrous: +12 (227 km/h, largest improvement out of 3 tested cars over stock nitrous power)
Handling: 225 km/h

Nissan GT-R SpecV (Full pro tuned, Blue/Blue/Blue/Red/Red/Yellow)
Top Speed: 346 km/h
Acceleration: 231 km/h(Makes me think parts aren't all that different...)
Nitrous: +17 (248 km/h)
Handling: 208 km/h


Shows upgrade vs tier reaction pretty well. We need to see more stock vs pro tuned stats, then we'll be able to see just how much pro tuned parts improve cars. By the looks of it, T3(or at least the SpecV) is barely affected.

Nice, its going slowing but hopefully everything will go well.

Small update, tried track 1 on Muira SV (553) and result is:

Well if you had recorded then you can upload if you want. It's not a must thing, so don't worry if you haven't recorded.

ABD, wanted to make a little suggestion here.
First of all, wanted to say that I once used to play an FPS game (doesn't matter which) in which we did many tests. Some of them were regarding weapons' reload times, which were calculated manually and had lot's of variables which could of misslead the final reload time from the proper one. So what we did was do three reloads (say 1.28s, 1.34s, 1.45s) and then we'd make the average one (in this case it would be 1.36s).
Like that the times were more precise. So, having in mind that everyone's that going to test the cars at "Kempton Docks" and "Ironhorse & Coast" are somewhat skilled and know the track as it's own hand an don't need any practice on it (and if you do need practice, you should do one run on the track to get familiarized), we should do the same here too. This is: 3 perfect runs and make the average of those three and then post the time.
What do you think? :)

I almost missed them. Its now in the list :D.

Yeah, its pretty awesome to see how much these cars are affected by these parts. T3's improvement is really worse.

And with that exige being tested as full pro tuned, now I can see now why miura is better.

Especially the RTR-X and the GT3

Edit:The 3 test which we have to do are top speed,accel in the shipyard and that handling one which somewhere in rockport no?

Idea is very good. This thing will matter when 2 players same cars are tested with same performance parts (not overall rating) but their laptimes are different. In that case your theory can be applied. Thou I can't put all the times in the table as it is already complicated. I also need to use some tags on table to mention that those are average of 3 laptimes. So will use a 2nd post to calculate these averages.

Topspeed can be done in turnpike as well, I used HWY99 @Rosewood.
Accel and NosAccel is on Shipyard
Handling is on Palmont, (Near the Downtown Challenge event)
