The glint of sunlight off the huge shield nearly blinded Ryo when it was angled toward him. He quickly dodged its beam and gave a thumbs up toward the pilot in the cockpit. The pilot waved and then moved the huge battle machine out of the repair hanger.

"Well, Lambo. Your first repair job on your own and it seems to have gone quite well. Everything appeared to be in order when I did the inspection. I'd say you're ready for the final test next week."

Lambo gave a slight bow. "Thank you very much, Ryo. I've enjoyed working with you. And I've enjoyed working with these amazing machines!" Lambo rubbed the palm of his hand against the dark blue metal shoulder armor of the mechanic battle machine he was in.

The two men continued discussing the machines they worked on as the cleaned up the hanger before making their way to the cafeteria for supper. All Exo-Force members assembled for supper, to hear the latest news and enjoy each other company. Those with families often brought them along, so it wasn't uncommon to see the cafeteria quite crowded.

The cafeteria was not as what you may think of when you hear the word. It could actually be describe more as a large lounge, with couches, recliners, and hug kao tables. Each table came from a singe tree, with the longest being able to seat forty-three people at a time. In the colder months, fires burned in the four strategically placed stone-and-glass fireplaces. The specially treated glass resisted heat and the fire was clean burning, so there was no need to worry about soot buildup.

Lambo paused long enough at one table to greet Arrow, who was surrounded, as usual, by several young ladies, before following Ryo to the bar. Drinks in hand, the two moved over to the table where Sensei Keiken was with his family.

"Well, well! Good to see you again, Lambo!" Keiken shook hands with the AT mechanic. "So, Ryo tells me you are progressing quite well. Feel like you could handle some battle machines on your own?"

"I suppose so, sir. Although, I still don't feel entirely comfortable working on an Aero Booster."

Ryo grinned. "Not surprised really. Those things are complex. I still take it slow to make sure I'm doing it right. Those engines need to be pampered."

General conversation followed for about the next hour. Lambo eventually moved on from that table, just wandering around the room, chatting with just about everyone. Arrow stayed put. Why should he bother visiting when there were plenty of pretty girls to hang around?

Eventually Lambo wandered by Ha-Ya-To, who winked in at him. "Your companion is quite the womanizer isn't he?"

Lambo scowled. "Yes. It's highly annoying, especially since we have to bunk together. I often wear earplugs so I don't have to listen to him at night raving about the latest girl he's seen."

"Wise move. I remember the first time he stayed with us, before you joined the team. Keiken had to finally put a curfew on him, he stayed out so late. Seems to be a little more behaved this time around, though."

"Hey, Ha-Ya-To, Lambo!" yelled Takashi from across the room. He waved for them to come over. Once there, they saw that a group of pilots had gathered.

"So, Lambo, I understand you are to begin basic training tomorrow as a pilot." Without waiting for an answer, he rushed on. "Since Keiken didn't say what you couldn't pilot, how about we aim for the biggest and best? Of course, we'll start lower, say, a sentry, but since you've piloted the repair machine, you are pretty familiar with the concept. We just need you to get familiarized with using weaponry while on the move."

"Well, I, er, that sounds great! But are you sure I should go for the Golden Gua...."

Takashi cut him off. "No harm really. Sure, it's much bigger, and waaaaaay more powerful, but I don't see why not."

The group of pilots murmured their agreement.

"So it's settled. Come by the B7 hanger in the morning. We'll start from there. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta run. See ya!" With a wave, Takashi left the room.

After supper, the group slowly began to disperse. Lambo left earlier, to avoid walking back to the Garrick's with Arrow. He liked Arrow as a friend and team mate, but there were some things about him that just ate at him. But, as he walked, he pushed those things out of his mind and focused on tomorrow. He could hardly wait to begin his training as a battle machine pilot.

Note: hope to have the blog up by tonight. Still putting the finishing touches to it.
